Hidden in a valley among the mountains, My Son was the religious centre of the Champa kingdom for centuries and is now a World Cultural Heritage Site.
Contents
My Son Sanctuary lies in an enclosed valley in former Duy Xuyen district, about 40 km from Hoi An and about 70 km from central Da Nang. From the 4th to the 13th century, Champa dynasties built dozens of brick temples here dedicated to Shiva. In 1999 My Son was recognised by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site.
